Komatsu renew exclusive simulator agreement with Immersive Technologies

Komatsu Ltd has renewed its technical and licensing agreement with advanced equipment simulator manufacturer Immersive Technologies for a second five year period in an official signing ceremony in Tokyo last week.

This agreement provides Immersive Technologies with continued exclusive access to Komatsu's confidential machine technical information and engineering staff, which is considered essential to accurately simulate their real machines to the highest level of fidelity for operator training.

Komatsu first signed the alliance agreement with Immersive Technologies in October 2006 following a yearlong review of simulator technology for operator training within the global mining industry. Simthetiq Releases New Functionality Within VBS2

MONTREAL, Canada (May, 2011)

Simthetiq announced today a successful integration of a new functionality within the VBS2 platform. The addition—targeted towards battle tank simulators—incorporates a fully working, dynamic clock (peri-UHR), unlocking an added potential to the vehicle’s optics which would normally have remained static.

The augmentation was developed during a contract with a German-based armament company for the delivery of a variety of fully capable, cross-platform, OpenFlight and VBS2 military 3D models. While Simthetiq has met the client’s specific training requirements and added the new functionality to their VBS2 model library, the success of this endeavour proves that out-of-the-box limitations can be surpassed with a little ingenuity.

Contact Simthetiq today and take advantage of the new optics and ultimately enhance your VBS2 experience.

Simthetiq Pushes for Interoperability Between Simulation and Games

MONTREAL, Canada (April, 2011)

Simthetiq continues to push forward with reusable virtual content across the most popular simulation and serious game run-time engines available. Recent development of interoperable military 3D vehicle models for a German-based armament company proves just that.

The contract involved the creation of a variety of fully functioning models—including the Fennek and Leopard 2A5—and to meet the client’s specific training requirements, the integration of common 3d visuals in both OpenSceneGraph (OSG) and Bohemia Interactive’s Virtual Battlespace2 (VBS2). The project was completed successfully and to the client’s satisfaction.
